We Need To Have A Serious Discussion About The Internet, Porn and You

If you’re a previous visitor, you’ll know I don’t do serious. If you’re here first time because of this clickbait titled article, then you’ll have to take my word for it. And for Gods sake don’t stray off this article elsewhere. You WILL regret it. I promise you.

But I digress. I have serious things to say in a probably not so serious way. You see, there’s some stuff that no one is directly talking about and it literally potentially affects everyone, whether they participate or not. [...]  read more

Boo! Poundland to buy 99p Stores

“Through working together, Poundland will improve choice, value and service for 99p Stores’ customers, bringing Poundland’s know-how and range to 99p Stores.” said the CEO. Really? Because 99p Store is far superior to Poundland; better stuff, better brands, better value, better choice. It’s just… better. No, it’s honestly nothing to do with the 1p difference. There’s definitely some ass about face thinking going on here. They should be bringing 99p Stores know-how and range to Poundland! [...]  read more

Dear 4Music, I F*CKING KNOW. Please f*ck off!

I quite like watching 4music when there is fuck all else on. And 9 times out of 10, there’s fuck all else on. So I watch it quite a lot. 4music apparently has some interactive online shit if your tv is connected to the internets, which mine is not, because if I wanted to go online I’d use a fucking computer, not a tv. But that doesn’t stop 4music from prompting me every fucking couple of minutes in 3 inch high letters in a banner over a foot long to press the red button for ‘more music telly’. And unlike the BBC, they don’t adhere to the standard that the green button dismisses red button prompts. In fact, the only way to get rid of the thing for a couple of minutes is to actually press the red button, just to be told that if I had the internets I could view their new service, but since I don’t, I should hit the back button to exit. [...]  read more

Virtual Real Life Simulator 2014

I’ve got an idea for a video game that I desperately want to play.

It’d be an open world sandbox affair somewhere along the GTA V lines, but it doesn’t need to have any grand over-arching storyline or anything. Just a goal that you have to go to work every day so you can get paid … the experience of which would be faithfully and accurately reproduced.

Which is why this game would need a vast array of weapons and torture devices. Because the point, really, would be that all the NPC’s in the game would behave like every cunt you meet in the real world every day. And this being a video game, you are at liberty to do to them what you fantasise about doing to them in the real world; [...]  read more

Thanks Again, Beeb

Not really wanting to get up at some ungodly hour to watch the Grand Prix, I PVR’d it to watch it when I got up. But I don’t need to, now, thanks to the BBC! Turned on the tv just in time for them to go one better than their usual blabbermouth reporting of the results by going over live during BBC Breakfast to watch the last two corners of the race, and consequently, I now know the results, and indeed, the results of the whole World Championship. Awesome. That saves me a few hours tv watching. Thanks! [...]  read more

DRM vs Piracy: Arse About Face Thinking

Just learned via my weekly catch-up of the rather brilliant RockPaperShotgun that STALKER 2 will require a permanent internet connection while playing.

In fact, it’s not even just some kind of checksum to make sure you’re playing a non-pirated version of the game… you won’t even own the whole game, because to make very sure you can’t pirate it (LOL!), parts of the game must be downloaded from the net on demand. As per this quote from GSC’s Studio Director: “Software piracy is an issue for us, we try to fight it, but within reason… Protection from piracy? Part of the content will be located on the server and downloaded as the game progresses. Permanent internet access is required. Text information, code and quests will be loaded through that connection.”[...]  read more

Never Forget

Ten years ago today.

Ten years since the US government conspired to kill thousands of it’s own people in a faked terrorist attack to justify a war.

Ten years since the world turned a blind eye to a whole lot of facts that simply don’t add up because they sleep better at night being willfully ignorant to the truth.

I know a lot of people will say ‘not today! today is a day to remember those who died! not to drag up ‘conspiracy theories’ again!’. And they’re right. Today IS a day to remember the dead. And that’s precisely why every single one of you who doesn’t question the official story of what happened that day is disrespecting all the people who died on 9/11. Don’t they deserve for the world to finally know WHY they died and who is responsible? [...]  read more

Utility Warehouse Discount Club: Just don’t. For your own sanity.

I’ve tried reviewing their ‘services’ on various real review sites, but they have an army of agents who scour sites daily and complain to the review sites whenever they find bad reviews. But one thing they can’t do is tell me to take down a review on my own site! And if they do, I guarantee they will be offended at the forthright nature of my response! Admittedly, it will likely have a lot less impact here, but if I can warn off one potential customer, then it’s all worth it, right? [...]  read more

Fuck Ecclestone. Fuck Sky. Fuck the BBC. Fuck Formula 1.

Soooo, yeah. The BBC have lost the rights to half – yes half, not all, but half – of Formula One live coverage from 2012 to 2018 to Sky.

For anyone that is willing to shell out for Sky Sports to watch the other half the season live (that number doesn’t include me), they can look forward to “the full Sky Sports treatment.”, according to Barney Francis of Sky Sports. IE, advertisement breaks every 8 minutes and missing all the crucial action.

For the rest of us, the BBC are offering ‘extended highlights’ of the races they won’t be covering later in the day. What the fuck is the point of that? If you don’t watch the race live, there’s no point watching it at all, since there’s no chance of not having it all ruined for you by news coverage of the race results. In fact BBC are one of the worst for this. With football, they say ‘if you don’t want to know the results, look away now.’, but with F1, with no warning, they’ll suddenly blurt out the results and show the best race incidents. [...]  read more
